Valley falls to Roxbury in State Sectional Semifinal

Pascack Valley baseball played in the North 1, Group 3 semifinals game against Roxbury that took place on Wednesday and Thursday. The game was postponed in the 6th inning on Wednesday due to inclement weather and was resumed on Thursday.

 

 

 

 

After going down 3-0, Pascack Valley needed a spark. And that’s exactly what they got to end the top of the 4th inning.

Pascack Valley was not able to capitalize with runners at the corners in the bottom of the 4th inning.

Valley got themselves back into the game in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring four runs.

 

The inning was capped off with a homerun by Jake Williams that gave PV the lead 4-3.

In the top of the 6th inning, the lightning alarm at Pascack Valley went off, causing both teams to head to their dugouts. This led to the game being postponed and resumed on Thursday at 2:00 PM.

When the game resumed on Thursday, Roxbury struck quickly.

In the top of the 7th, Roxbury added to their lead.

Roxbury defeated Valley 7-4 after a scoreless bottom of the 7th.

Roxbury advances to the State Sectional on Friday, while this loss ended the season for Pascack Valley.
