On Monday, Pascack Valley students, along with history teacher Leah Jerome and psychology and history teacher Ryan Walter, visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture, located in Washington D.C., for the day.

At the museum, students learned about the history of African Americans in the U.S., from slavery to the present-day, the civil rights movement, and the presidency of Barack Obama. Along with the historical background, the museum provided the history of sports, music, fashion, and performances of African Americans.

Prior to exploring the museum, students saw the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial.
