PV community participates in nationwide movement

Students, staff, Human Rights League attend March For Our Lives in New York City



Chants of “enough is enough” reverberated throughout the crowd as marchers demanded gun control legislation and volunteers with clipboards registered teenagers to vote.

On March 24, hundreds of thousands of protesters across the country spoke out against gun violence during March for Our Lives. The main rally took place in Washington D.C., while over 800 smaller marches were organized in cities worldwide. According to the New York Times, approximately 150,000 people marched in New York City on Saturday.

In New York City, members of the PV Human Rights League got involved by walking as a group while carrying posters and a banner. Speakers at the event included survivors of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., as well as representatives from anti-gun violence organizations such as Guns Down Life Up and Moms Demand Action.
