Seat: Hillsdale

Occupation: Nurse Practitioner

Job Location: Valley Medical Group in Midland Park, NJ

Married: Yes

Kids: 2

Hobbies: “In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and our new puppy. I also love to cook and bake. I love to read books of all different genres. I also play recreational women’s softball and volleyball in Hillsdale. I am a very social person and really enjoy getting together with friends and meeting new people. I also enjoy traveling so much that even though I do not like to fly, I deal with it to explore the world.”

Reason to Run: “I want to run for the PV Regional BOE because I now have a daughter that is a freshman at PV. I have always been involved with my children’s schools one way or another. As kids get older there is less opportunity for a parent to be involved in the school and I felt as if this was a great chance for me to get involved. I also want to be able to offer my knowledge and skills as a nurse practitioner to the board during this health crisis. It remains to be seen how long we will all have to deal with this pandemic and being prepared for any possibility is of the utmost importance. ”

What do you hope to accomplish if you win?: “If I win, I hope to accomplish many things. One is to provide current health information and guidance to the board as it pertains to COVID-19. That means support and direction regarding students’ and teachers’ physical health but also their mental health. Unfortunately, there will be many mental repercussions to the pandemic just as there were after the pandemic in 1918. Supporting the students, teachers, and community mentally will be critical to successfully recovering from the pandemic. I also would like to foster greater communication between the BOE and the community. As someone who has to be able to effectively communicate with patients, I feel that I would be an asset to the board. I also hope to assist in successfully achieving as many of the district and board goals as possible. “
