On Sunday, Oct. 15, Pascack Valley Class of 2020 will be hosting an Alzheimer’s Walk at Overpeck Park in Ridgefield Park, N.J.

Registration for the walk begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.

Ms. Ashley Arroyo, a Spanish teacher at PV and the sophomore class advisor, is organizing the event for all grade levels to participate in. The Sophomore Class Council’s goal is to raise $2,000 for the organization.

“It’s really important for us to support the Alzheimer’s Association,” Arroyo said. “There are so many people in the Pascack Valley community and family that have relatives who are struggling with the disease. My grandmother has been suffering for 20 years with Alzheimer’s.”

Antonio Fyfe, the sophomore class president, and Jessica Forcellati, the sophomore class secretary, have been promoting the Alzheimer’s Walk by sending emails and posting flyers throughout the school.

“People should walk not only to support our class, but to support Alzheimer’s research and raise awareness,” Forcellati said. “Alzheimer’s is a disease that affects so many people. We all need to do our part to help find a cure.”

To join the walk or donate to the Class of 2020 Alzheimer’s Association, visit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Association webpage.
